The Veil
The Veil is the name often given to the boundary between the world of the living and the world of spirits. It is said to be thin in certain places—at twilight, at the threshold of a door, or where someone died. Ghosts are those who are caught in or near the Veil; goblins are said to live in the in-between.

We use the term as a convenience. Not every tradition uses it. See Beyond the Veil for a story and Glossary for related terms.
